Summary:  Negotiate and settle property damage claims on behalf of mortgage lenders and/or consumers. 


Key Responsibilities




  • Negotiate and settle property damage claims within specific established timelines.


  • Review and analyze insurance policies to determine coverage.


  • Investigate validity of insurance claims.


  • Assess for insurable damage.


  • Inspect and meet with insurance carriers and/or clients as required.


  • Track Statute of Limitations.


  • Evaluate damage estimates from insurance carriers to determine if the settlement amount is reasonable.


  • Review insurance carrier’s denials against the insurance policy to determine if the denial is warranted.


  • Challenge insurance carrier’s denials and/or estimates when warranted.


  • Obtain senior/lead/mentor approval of estimate/denials in unlicensed states.


  • Obtain senior/lead/mentor approval before closing any files in unlicensed states.


  • Manage assigned caseload timely and within company guidelines.


  • Attended company meetings as requested.


  • Perform special projects/assignments as needed.


  • Adhere to additional employee responsibilities as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual.


  • Meet performance standards and goals as established in the Employee Performance Plan.


  • May perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.


  • May occasionally work extended hours based on operational needs.


Experience and Skills: 






  • One-year real estate, mortgage lending, or loan servicing experience desired. One year insurance industry experience required.


  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills.


  • Intermediate level computer skills with MS Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Web Basic hardware, software and Internet knowledge.


  • Ability to work independently and remotely.


  • Organized, flexible, and can prioritize multiple tasks effectively.


  • Adaptable to change and working in a dynamic environment.


  • Ability to work well in a team environment.


Qualifications:




  • Public Adjuster licenses (home state at minimum) upon hire.


  • Required to obtain all other required state licenses within one year of employment.


  • High school diploma required. 


Work Schedule:


Report to San Diego, CA, office (2-3 days a week) or remotely from home office anywhere in the U.S. To work remotely, must have fully equipped home office. No field work. Minimal travel required. The work week is typically Monday through Friday, with business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.


Salary Range:


The salary for this position typically ranges from $23-$29/hr, depending on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Please note that the final offer may differ based on the candidate's specific qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and business needs.

A corporate office environment with a professional setting, characterized by a quiet to moderate noise level. Occasional meetings, collaborative discussions, and business activities may contribute to variations in noise levels.
