The Department of Corrections is looking to hire an Education Operations Specialist. This position will support the financial, operational, and policy work of the agency's education unit. Included in this work is serving as the internal and external communications lead for education as well as supporting the assessment and advancement of educational opportunities across the Department.
**Minimum Qualifications**
To be qualified for and considered for this position, ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
+ Two years of experience in education program operations, program evaluation, or communications*A bachelors degree in Education, Public Administration, Business, Finance, or related field may substitute for one year of experience; a masters degree in the previously listed fields may substitute for 18 months.
+ Written communications skills sufficient to write external communications, such as grants, contracts, and reports.
**Preferred Qualifications**
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:
+ Advanced degree in Education, Public Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field.
+ Knowledge of federal and/or state educational regulations and guidelines regarding the education of incarcerated individuals.
+ Experience in grant writing and research.
+ Experience managing budgets.
+ Experience participating in an education evaluation and assessment process.
+ Experience coordinating an Adult Basic Education (ABE) program or postsecondary Prison Education Program.
+ Experience in education policy, education research, or education data systems.
+ Experience in finance related to grants and contracts.
**Physical Requirements**

**Additional Requirements**
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
