Travis County Credit Union

We are a small, community-focused Credit Union on the East side of Austin seeking an enthusiastic Loan Officer to join our team! This is a full-time, in-office role with hours from 8:15 AM–5:15 PM, Monday through Friday.

At Travis County Credit Union, our team of 12 works closely every day to provide a boutique banking experience where every member is treated with care and respect. As a Loan Officer, you’ll play a key role in growing our loan portfolio while helping members achieve their financial goals. From auto loans to home equity, credit cards to personal loans, you’ll provide guidance, education, and solutions that improve the financial lives of our members.

We’re looking for someone who is not only skilled in lending but also motivated by results! Someone who enjoys matching members with the right products, uncovering opportunities for cross-selling, and consistently delivering outstanding service.

Responsibilities:

• Originate, process, and close consumer loans, credit cards, and home equity loans.
• Build strong member relationships by actively listening, identifying needs, and recommending appropriate loan products.
• Proactively promote and cross-sell credit union products and services to meet member needs and department growth goals.
• Review credit reports, analyze income, and make sound lending recommendations in line with policy.
• Educate members on loan terms, repayment options, and additional products to enhance their financial success.
• Partner with collections and operations staff to maintain portfolio quality and compliance.
• Provide backup support to teller and member service staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of lending or financial services experience preferred.
• Proven ability to achieve sales goals while maintaining excellent member service.
• Knowledge of consumer lending, underwriting, and loan documentation.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and loan origination/core systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or certifications preferred.

Requirements of Position:

• Must be able to sit or stand at a workstation for up to 6 hours.
• Must be able to squat, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be computer literate, 10-key proficient, and able to type using a standard US keyboard.
• Must report to the office as assigned; remote work is not permitted except at the discretion of management.
• Must be able to complete mental math, problem-solving, and memorize workflows, codes, and member identifiers.

Job Type:

Full-time

Pay:

$23.00–$26.00 per hour (depending on experience)
