Job Description

The Environmental Services Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking part time (22.5 ours per week) Housekeeping Workers to join our team! The work shift is 8 am to 4 pm. We need workers who are available to work one day a week and  every weekend/ holidays, as needed . Those who will be hired are expected to be available to attend 5 days orientation. 

Job Summary:

Under general supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager cleans and services building areas, moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the facility. 

Job Duties:

• Clean, disinfect and sanitize all areas of the facility to include but not limited to corridors, common areas, lobby, offices, restrooms, stairwells and elevators. 
• Collect, clean, reline receptacles and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Clean, disinfect and sanitize resident rooms and corridors to include but not limited to high touch areas; furniture; beds; restrooms, hand rails, overbed tables and commodes using proper cleaning and disinfection techniques and chemicals.
• Must work with various cleaning chemicals and solutions.
• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and place furniture back in correct placement.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items needed to maintain a clean safe. environment for our residents, visitors and staff.
• Remove, transport Regulated Medical Waste in compliance with Infection Control and Blood-borne Pathogen Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary and attractive manner.
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure that established Infection Control practices are maintained when performing all tasks.

Requirements:

HS Graduate/GED Preferred

Prior housekeeping experience preferred
