Looking for Mobile App Developer – Non-Profit, Interactive Mental Wellness App (Paid, Limited Budget)
We’re a non-profit building a free, interactive, intuitive mobile app designed to help people calm anxiety, overwhelm, panic, loneliness, and nighttime rumination in the moment. This is not therapy or diagnosis—it’s a guided, body-first reset meant to be used frequently, when thinking is hard.
Although this is an MVP, the experience is not static or linear. The app is intentionally designed with many simple pathways based on user choices, so it feels responsive and supportive rather than repetitive. Each session is short (about 5–10 minutes), but the paths vary so people can return again and again.
High-level vision
A “Calm Mode” that adapts based on:
• How someone is feeling
• Intensity of distress
• Whether they have physical items with them (kit vs no-kit)
• Whether the struggle is more physical (panic) or mental (rumination, isolation)
Core experience
• Feeling + intensity selection
• Body-based calming tools first (kit items and no-kit alternatives)
• Text-guided breathing and grounding
• Sensory noticing (what you see, feel, hear)
• Optional visualization, movement, or light CBT/DBT-style thought checks
• Short “sustain the calm” step
• Clear completion and optional support resources
Key requirements
• iOS + Android (single codebase preferred: Flutter or React Native)
• Text-only guidance (no voice)
• Static visuals only (no animations; simple timers are fine)
• Offline-first
• No accounts, no backend
• Local storage only
Why this matters
This app is designed to support people who are struggling—especially those without immediate access to therapy—by offering practical, dignified, and accessible help in real moments of distress. The app will be free for users.
Project context
• Non-profit project
• Limited but paid budget
• Clear, well-defined scope
• Timeline: under 60 days for MVP
