We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with experience in peritoneal dialysis (PD) to support patients managing dialysis at home. This role focuses on providing individualized patient care, education, and monitoring to ensure safe and effective home dialysis treatments. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients’ health and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer personalized peritoneal dialysis treatments in accordance with individual care plans.
Monitor patient health during treatments, identifying and addressing any complications promptly.
Manage patient fluid levels to maintain proper hydration and prevent fluid overload.
Collect and analyze blood samples to monitor patient health and treatment effectiveness.
Provide education, guidance, and emotional support to patients and caregivers throughout the treatment process.
Conduct tests to evaluate kidney function, including creatinine clearance and urea reduction ratio.
Maintain strict sterile techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
Prepare patients for dialysis by ensuring proper hygiene and cleanliness of the peritoneal cavity.
Instruct patients on adherence to treatment plans and safe home dialysis practices.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment and collaborate with dialysis support staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum of one year of nursing experience, including exposure to hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
At least six months of general dialysis experience.
Ability to train new patients on peritoneal dialysis procedures.
Willingness to conduct in-home training as needed.
Strong interpersonal, teaching, and patient-education skills.
