From promoting growth and development to prioritizing work-life balance, we're committed to helping our team members thrive. **That's Perdue.** **Summary** The purpose of the Regional Safety and Security Manager is to provide leadership and support to develop and administer an effective and proactive program to eliminate loss events in the workplace. To ensure compliance with applicable Perdue, local, state, and federal policies, procedures and regulations. To serve as part of the Perdue AgriBusiness Operations team with additional operations responsibilities as needed. **Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities** 1. Advise, support and promote an effective Health and Safety Management Process. 2. Maintain an awareness of regulatory issues and industry best practices and ensure compliance with internal policy/procedure and external regulatory requirements. 3. Assist in developing the Health and Safety Strategic Plans and performance measurements. Create reports and documentation as necessary. 4. Plan, develop, track and conduct safety training sessions. Coordinate the activity of special emphasis actions (e.g. Safety Committee, Behavioral Based Safety Steering teams, etc). 5. Conduct facility inspections, incident investigations and safety audits as required. Follow-up to ensure completion of action items and gap closure. 6. Lead and assist in the development of goals, strategies and tactics to accomplish safety plans. Communicate the status of safety performance against identified goals and standards to Regional Management teams. 7. Assist engineering and facility personnel with contractor safety management including the contractor selection process, contractor training and observation of compliance activities. Assist contractor with incident investigations and third party claims as needed. 8. Assist in reviews of Capital Projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. 9. Perform other tasks as assigned. **Minimum Education** BS Degree (Safety, Agriculture, Management, Business, Engineering). Professional Safety Certification preferred. In lieu of a degree equivalent work experience will be considered. **Experience Requirements** + 10 - 12 years (agricultural production/manufacturing operations) + Understanding of agricultural production operations + Understanding of manufacturing technologies + Understanding of OSHA laws, regulations, and requirements + Understanding of Worker's Compensation laws and regulations + Strong leadership skills + Strong written and oral communication skills + Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills + Understanding of standard software applications **Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements** + Able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 150') + Exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db - hearing protection required) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). + Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities and customer locations. + Able to use standard office equipment and communicate on the telephone. _Perdue Farms Inc. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
