Job Description

Senior Interior Designer or Architect About the Job:

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, passionate, and self-motivated Senior Interior Designer or Architect to join our collaborative, high-performing team. In this role, you'll bring projects to life-guiding them from the earliest design phases all the way through construction. If you thrive on innovation, client service, and technical excellence, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.

Why You'll Love Working Here:

  • Creative Freedom & Impact: Shape interiors and environments that inspire-from high-end residential spaces to commercial and institutional projects. Your design ideas won't just be drawings; they'll become built environments that matter.
  • Culture of Collaboration: We believe the best ideas emerge when people work side by side. That's why our designers are in-office Monday Thursday for maximum creativity and mentoring, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
  • Professional Growth: From mentorship with experienced architects to continuing education, exam support, and exposure to diverse project types, you'll have resources to grow and advance your career.
  • Employee-First Benefits: Competitive compensation, biannual bonuses, strong health benefits, retirement match, paid leave, and even paid parking in our historic downtown workspace.
  • Values-Driven Team: We're guided by shared principles-service, excellence, continuous improvement, and unity through challenges. You'll be surrounded by teammates who care about design, clients, and each other.

What You'll Do :

  • Lead the full interior design process through schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Translate design concepts into technical documentation with a focus on detailing, millwork, lighting, and all aspects of the interior environment.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet requirements for time, budget, quality, and scope.
  • Present ideas, resolve issues, and communicate project progress to clients with confidence.
  • Manage client expectations, team coordination, and consultant communications.
  • Source materials, finishes, fixtures, and furniture; prepare budgets and bid documents.
  • Document finishes, millwork, and interior architecture in Revit.
  • Produce 3D renderings using SketchUp and/or Revit.
  • Create impactful graphic packages and client presentations using InDesign.
  • Conduct site visits, perform field measurements, and oversee construction progress and material installation.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as an Interior Designer (experience with high-end residential, K 12 education, or medical projects preferred).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • NCIDQ certification or licensed Architect (strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency in Revit and SketchUp.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-through.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize under shifting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to build productive client and team relationships.
  • A growth mindset with a genuine desire to keep learning and developing.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: Competitive salary + generous biannual bonuses.
  • Insurance: ~80% of medical/dental/vision premiums covered for you and your family, plus 100% of short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
  • Retirement: Simple IRA plan with up to 3% employer match.
  • Paid Leave: Flexible PTO, sick leave, and additional paid leave options.
  • Workspace Perks: Renovated historic downtown office + paid employee parking.
  • Professional Development: Exam/licensure fee reimbursement, mentorship, participation in design community, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Culture: A supportive, people-first environment where collaboration and design excellence come together.
