Primary Responsibilities

Leadership & Training

  • Serve as crew lead and mentor for Tower Technicians I & II
  • Train technicians using industry standards and safety protocols (OSHA, ANSI, NWSA, ASME, NEC)
  • Direct topside activities and coordinate site operations

Technical Expertise

  • Execute installation, repair, modification, optimization, testing, and closeout of wireless infrastructure systems
  • Perform advanced testing, including sweep testing, PIM testing, and fiber/connector inspections
  • Interpret construction drawings, RFDs, and site plans to ensure compliance with build specifications
  • Maintain expertise in sector/antenna configurations, jumper routing, coax systems, RET settings, and fiber routing

Quality & Documentation

  • Complete accurate project documentation and closeout packages using digital photography
  • Ensure "punch-free" site delivery through meticulous quality control
  • Maintain detailed inventory management and equipment accountability

Safety & Compliance

  • Perform comprehensive daily inspections and maintain site housekeeping standards
  • Execute job hazard assessments and implement safety protocols
  • Demonstrate proficiency in fall protection, rigging, and rescue procedures

Required Qualifications

Certifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years tower construction/climbing experience
  • Valid NWSA Tech I Certification (TTT-1 required)
  • OSHA 10 or 30

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry 70 pounds consistently
  • Full body mobility: climbing, twisting, turning for extended periods
  • Capable of working at heights up to 500 feet
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with specialty equipment: ANRITSU, VIAVI, KAELUS
  • Strong computer skills and smartphone technology knowledge
  • Basic mathematical skills and blueprint reading ability
  • Working knowledge of fiber optics, coaxial systems, and RF principles

Professional Requirements

  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license
  • Pass a criminal background check and DOT physical
  • Complete pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules, including nights/weekends
