Position Summary

ESSC is seeking professional, reliable, and dedicated Unarmed Security Officers to join our expanding team of security professionals. In this vital role, you will be responsible for protecting client sites, safeguarding personnel and property, and promoting a safe, orderly environment that enables smooth business operations.

You will serve as the frontline presence of ESSC, ensuring site security, managing access control, responding to emergencies, and delivering exceptional customer service to staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, patrol, and control access points to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Uphold site safety standards and enforce company and client policies.
• Maintain order and assist with daily operational security needs.
• Provide excellent customer service by professionally directing guests and staff.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including evacuations or first aid situations.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and represent ESSC with integrity and respect.
• Document and report incidents accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Maryland Security Guard Certification within the specified timeframe.
• Prior security, loss prevention, or law enforcement experience strongly preferred.
• Additional security-related certifications are a plus and will be considered favorably.
• Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check in accordance with Maryland Police requirements.
• Basic First Aid and CPR certification preferred (not required).
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent situational awareness and conflict management abilities.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive during high-pressure situations.
• Must own and maintain a Class A Black uniform (professional appearance required).
• Familiarity with radios or other communication devices desirable.

Work Conditions

• Flexible scheduling: morning, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts available.
• Assignments may include both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Must be available to respond to emergency staffing situations within 2–4 hours of notice.
