We are seeking Arabic Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Arabic is one of USCIS’s most requested languages, requiring interpreters with accuracy, confidentiality, and cultural competency.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Arabic English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
Interpret in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts with neutrality and professionalism.
Handle both scheduled and urgent OPI requests.
Adhere to USCIS/DHS confidentiality and compliance standards.
Participate in training, quality assurance reviews, and compliance refreshers.
Qualifications
Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic (any major dialect: Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf, Modern Standard Arabic) and English.
2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, medical, or government preferred).
Knowledge of interpreter ethics and standards (NCIHC, ATA, RID).
Strong communication skills; ability to remain impartial and accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 security clearance.
