Iowa Dermatology Consultants is looking for PART-TIME MA/CMA to join our growing dermatology clinic. Clinical staff work directly with one physician to provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services to Ankeny and surrounding communities. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care, including taking vital signs and performing intake assessments.
• Assist in dermatological procedures and treatments under the supervision of healthcare provider.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure proper documentation of patient interactions.
• Collaborate with medical staff to enhance patient service and support in various settings
• Transmits prescriptions and/or refills to respective pharmacies using EMR
• Scribes the history, physical exam, and assessment/plan into the EMR
• Performs triage for patients who call or walk-in with acute problems
• Receives samples and interacts with pharmaceutical representatives
• Arranges referrals to other physicians and specialties
• Counsels and educates patients on diseases of the skin, hair, and nails
• Prepares patient for surgery and assists physician in procedures and surgeries
• Performs telephone calls to patients regarding concerns, lab and pathology results
• Performs post-operative phone calls to patients to assess for complications
• Removes sutures and assesses wounds in the post-operative period
• Performs biologic injection training and prior authorizations
• Assists with biopsy and proper collection of specimens/path requisitions
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• 1+ years of medical/clinical experience
• Dermatology experience is preferred but not required.
