We are conducting a nation-wide search for a Commercial Sales professional who is ready to join a very fast growing company. Sandbox Solar is located in desirable Fort Collins, known as one of the best cities in the U.S.

Our Commercial Sales Associate will:

  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, and project managers
  • Find new commercial solar opportunities through Bidnet, Building connections, industry outreach and networking events
  • Design systems accurately, build financial models, and support clear, data-driven project pricing
  • Attend networking events and connect directly with decision-makers
  • Respond to RFPs and work with internal teams to create strong proposals
  • Assist in project design and pricing using solar design tools in coordination with operations
  • Support marketing efforts and help increase brand visibility in the commercial market.

We are looking for a Commercial Sales “ Rainmaker ” who has:

  • At least 5 years success in direct B2B sales related to the construction industry; HVAC and/or Solar preferred. Because we work with GCs and governmental entities, experience in multi-family projects is a plus
  • An understanding of RFPs and the commercial bidding process
  • A working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, interconnection processes, and solar financing options
  • Proficiency in Helioscope, Energy Toolbase, Microsoft Excel, & CRM Tools, or equivalent systems
  • Good judgment, a strategic mindset, and a collaborative approach to commercial sales
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Bonus Points if you have a bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or a related field.

This will NOT be the right opportunity for those who

  • Shy away from building relationships, cold-calling, or networking
  • Drop the ball, don't follow through, and don't keep accurate records
  • Are uncomfortable or averse to using sales, marketing, and customer relations technology
  • Lack initiative, drive, and a sense of urgency
  • Aren't personable, confident, and credible enough to represent Sandbox Solar and meet potential leads & referral sources.

This Role is Full Time (40+ Hours per week), and Hybrid with 2-3 days in the office per week.

Compensation includes a base salary of $60,000 + $30,000 draw against an anticipated commission range of $75,000 - $150,000 based on performance. Commissions, however, are uncapped allowing for higher potential earnings for a rainmaker!

Relocation assistance up to $5,000.

We hope to have this position filled by December 31, 2025, but may extend beyond that date if needed. We have a stellar reputation because of the culture and team we've built. We will be very selective about who represents our company and brand in the commercial construction space.
